DAN HUNT
President, FC Dallas
Vice President, Hunt Sports Group

After a year at the helm on an interim basis, Daniel Hunt was officially named president of FC Dallas in January 2014. Hunt is also in his eighth year as Vice President of Hunt Sports Group – the parent company of FC Dallas and serves as a member of the MLS Board of Governors.

Hunt spent years working on the design and construction of Toyota Stadium and Toyota Soccer Center with his late father, American sports pioneer, Lamar Hunt, and his brother, FC Dallas Chairman, Clark Hunt. With 17 professional-grade soccer fields and a world-class soccer-specific stadium anchoring the 145-acre complex, Toyota Soccer Center boasts one of the most innovative designs in professional sports. Since opening in 2005, Hunt and FC Dallas have utilized the unique venue to establish the Club as the leader in youth development in North America. Rated as one of only two five-star facilities by the U.S. Soccer Development Academy, Toyota Soccer Center has helped FC Dallas sign an MLS-record 11 homegrown players to the First Team in just five years.

Hunt led the operations of FC Dallas Youth for several seasons and has helped develop one of the most elite youth programs in MLS. The FC Dallas Academy Under-18 Team has earned back-to-back trips to the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Final. On July 22, 2012, FC Dallas’ U-18 Academy Team became the first MLS U-18 club in league history to win the U.S. Soccer Development Academy National Championship with a 3-2 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps FC at BBVA Compass Stadium.

The victory came a year and 12 days after another FC Dallas Academy player, Richard Sanchez, became the first American-born player to win a FIFA World Cup Championship. The U-17 World Cup Champion goalkeeper for Mexico in 2011, Sanchez also started for his country in the 2013 U-20 World Cup. In total, 34 boys and girls from the FC Dallas Academy have represented the U.S., Mexican or Canadian Youth National Teams since the Academy was founded.

Hunt assumed the day-to-day operations of FC Dallas in late 2012. The 37-year-old Dallas, Texas native now leads the club’s business operations and works closely with the technical staff to help FC Dallas reach its goals both on and off the field.

In addition to his responsibilities with FC Dallas, Hunt played a key role in the successful renovation of Arrowhead Stadium which debuted in 2010. The $375-million modernization project provided Chiefs fans with the first-class amenities of the finest sports venues in the world while maintaining the distinct soul and mystique that make Arrowhead one of the most iconic stadiums in the NFL.

Hunt also serves as Vice President and General Partner of Hilltop Capital Development, a privately owned real estate and oil and gas investment enterprise. He began his business career as Vice President of New Business Development for Gemini Voice Solutions in New York City, a provider of voice-over internet protocol for home-to-home calling in the United States. Currently, Daniel Hunt serves as a Trustee for St Mark School and is also a member of the Collections Committee for the Dallas Museum of Art.

Hunt graduated from Southern Methodist University in 2000 earning a degree in Business Administration and was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. Dan and his wife are actively involved in a number of charities in North Texas including Dallas Museum of Art; America Scores and FGI (Fashion Group International), among others.
