Ed Lynch is a 25 year veteran of the sports marketing and media industries with successful experience in sales and marketing.  Well known for his solid track record of dynamic leadership and with experience in big idea creation, media sales, sponsorship strategy, promotion development, retail/package goods consulting, event marketing, licensing, client management and partnership marketing, he has uniquely worked on the client, league, and agency sides of sports business.

In 2017, Ed created Wicked Sports Marketing -  a business development agency that is currently working on sponsorship projects for MLBPA and other major sports organizations.   

Prior, Ed was the Vice President, Business Development, Sports at VER, the largest production equipment rental company in the world where he focused on growing the company’s sports business beyond broadcast and into events. 

From 2012-2015, Ed was the Senior Director, Sports Marketing & Partnerships at USA Today’s Sports Media Group. In this role, he was responsible for business development efforts across sports leagues, properties and agencies. He sold all of the Gannett media assets to clients who leveraged sports i.e print, digital, and mobile.  Ed exceeded annual sales goals and built the USA Today Sports new business brand via his vast industry outreach.

Prior, he served as Vice President, Business Development, Sports for Sentient Jet where he was responsible for all sports related league and team partnerships, sponsorship evaluation and execution and the brand’s PGA TOUR and NASCAR relationships  With the PGA Tour relationship, Ed grew the partnership program from 1 TOUR player to 60 in 2 years while managing nearly 5mm in annual revenue generated by PGA TOUR players and NASCAR drivers. With his successful sales efforts, he increased revenue from $50,000 to $4mm in 2 years.
In 2002, he started All Access Sports & Events – a national golf agency that consulted with clients on their golf strategy; managed client hospitality opportunities and televised golf tournaments including the  Michael Jordan Celebrity Invitational. As agency Principal and Co-Partner from 2002-2005, Ed focused on business development efforts that led the company to fast growth with a growing list of clients.

Ed’s prior sports marketing positions include Director, Sports Marketing at MLBPA where he increased licensing and promotions revenue; Director of Corporate Sales at Major League Soccer where he led sponsorship sales; and Director of Sports Marketing at Sports Illustrated where he worked closely with the U.S. sales team to sell integrated advertising, marketing and promotional programs.

Ed started his career at ProServ, the pioneer sports marketing agency, where he worked in sales, events and corporate consulting.

Ed and his wife Dianne (McCaffrey) Lynch (an industry executive too) are active volunteers and fundraisers in the community. Ed serves on the Board of Golf Fights Cancer and he is also an Ambassador for Family Reach.  He is a frequent industry speaker and panel moderator and he was named to the Boston Chapter Board of the National Sports Marketing Network (NSMN) more than a decade ago.
