Industry executives will lead a town-hall style meeting that addresses the following topics:

  • Given the state of the economy and the multitude of sports properties and events in North Texas, how are these properties and events providing more value and differentiating themselves from all of the other options?
  • What was the national and local sponsorship, media and fan impact of North Texas hosting national events including Super Bowl XV and 2011 World Series? What did we learn and how will that help in the bid for future events?
  • We will review the Fox Sports broadcasts of Super Bowl XV and 2011 World Series.  How did advertising and viewership compare to years past?
  • What was the economic impact and how will these national staged events help North Texas to attract additional events like Super Bowl, BCS Championship, and others?
  • With the success of North Texas events in 2011 (including the Crowne Plaza Invitational, HP Byron Nelson Championship, ESPN Bell Helicopter Bowl, AT&T Red River Rivalry, AT&T Cotton Bowl), what can we expect for sponsorship, media coverage, national and local viewership, and economic impact of these events in 2012?
  • With less than 6 months out from the start of London 2012, we will discuss the sponsorship, digital and broadcast highlights of the Summer Games.
  • How has college realignment altered the college sports landscape in terms of fan base, sponsorship and media rights? What can we expect next locally and nationally?
  • How does TCU's move to the Big XII impact recruitment and academics?
  • Since the Longhorn Network launched in August, how has it performed?  What trends do we expect to see around the country based on its platform?
  • Did we see an increase in sponsorship spending and unique activation in 2011?  What was the best example of sponsor activation in 2011?
  • As spending increases nationally, can we expect more local agency growth in terms of account assignment and staffing?
  • In 2011, how did media rights evolve in sports and what changes are happening locally?  What are the local radio and television stations planning for 2012 and 2013?
  • What was the impact of the NFL and NBA work stoppage on the sports marketing industry and what did we learn?
  • We will discuss the re-branding of NBC Sports and CBS - -and the impact on viewers, partners and advertisers.
  • How are brands, properties, and teams using social media?  Do we expect an increase in social media programs and activation in 2012? How much more important will social media strategy be as part of the overall sponsorship pitch and activation program?
  • How have the non-Texas team/college football games performed at Cowboys Stadium (ex: 2011 Cowboys Classic - LSU vs. Oregon)?
  • What has been the impact of bringing the NCAA Division One National Championship game to play in North Texas?
  • We will review the major soccer events that have been brought to North Texas (ex:  CONCACAF Gold Cup, FC Barcelona vs. Club America)?
  • How has the Red River Rivalry game been the impetus to host more college football games in town?
  • In what areas do you predict sports business industry growth for jobs and careers?
